Overview
Our friendly L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Instructors are putting on their best witch, warlock, or zombie costumes to take you on a spooky paddling outing! You're invited to wear your own costume and join in the fun. Please consider bringing a donation of non-perishable food items for the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.
Please note that equipment is not provided for this outing and you must bring your own SUP and leash or kayak, paddle, and U.S. Coast Guard-approved Type III PFD.

What to Bring
Note: Equipment is not provided for this event. Please bring your SUP and leash or kayak, paddle and US Coast Guard-approved Type III PFD.
- SUP and leash or 10-foot or longer recreational kayak, paddle and US Coast Guard-approved Type III PFD†
- Weather- and activity-appropriate clothing (preferably synthetic*)
- Costume comfortable for paddling, and in the event of a capsize or fall into the water
- Water shoes or shoes you don't mind getting wet (closed-toe recommended)
- Personal prescriptions such as EpiPen or inhaler
- One quart of water (no glass bottles)
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
Optional Items to Bring
- Waterproof camera
- Sunglasses with lanyard (polarized recommended)
- Hat with visor
- Lanyard or strap to secure costume hat or accessories
- Extra change of clothes and shoes
- Towel
- Lip balm with sunscreen
- Non-perishable food items for donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank
Prerequisites
- Previous paddling experience required
- Must be comfortable paddling in windy conditions and cold water
